Family Law

Do you have a family law issue?

Relationship breakdown can be one of the most difficult challenges a person can ever experience.

Along with the feelings of grief and loss of the relationship and future you imagined and planned for, there are big decisions to be made about children and the division of property.

We are here to support and guide you to a brighter future on the other side of this life-changing experience. It doesn't have to only be an ending, but can also be a new beginning.

Collaborative Family Law

Our Principal Solicitor, Rebecca Francis, is collaboratively trained. Collaborative Family Law is a process in which a separating couple and their lawyers make an agreement not to go to court, and to work together to reach a mutually acceptable solution.

Even where matters are not formally in the collaborative process, our goal and preference will always be to help you resolve your matter without going to court. No one knows your family better than you, and turning important decisions over to a Judge effectively takes things out of your hands. While unfortunately, sometimes court is necessary, we will work with you to assess all the available options and work out what suits your situation best.

I am a Nationally Accredited Mediator (NMAS) and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP). As an FDRP, I am qualified to issue s60I certificates, which are required should either party wish to file an application with the Family and Federal Circuit Court of Australia (FCFCOA) for parenting orders.

Parenting Coordination is a form of dispute resolution for separated and separating parents to help them implement parenting orders or a parenting plan. It is a child-focused process and takes place over a number of months, facilitating communication and educating parents about child development and resolving conflict.
